A Day in Art
A Day in Art specializes in art tours by providing six sessions during New York City’s art seasons. Each spring and fall, A Day in Art guides our groups around the known and lesser known institutions and neighborhoods of Manhattan. We explore established artists and new emerging talents, both national and international, in the galleries and museums of the New York art scene. Through a unique perspective of an artist herself, Jo Wood-Brown provides insight on the formal elements of how artists conceive, create, and capture their subjects. Alyssa Rose Johnson brings the tours directly to the artist studios and assists in the guided tours dialogue. The tours focus on the growing trends within contemporary and modern art, and highlight historically prominent shows. A Day in Art brings a broader insight on how art impacts society, aesthetics, and culture. The courses encourage dialogue within the tour group and focuses on alternative points of view that arise. Our guided tours explore the creativity in us as viewers through the expressions of the artists we see each session.
